Canon John Burke Council meets in
St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church which is
located at 3891 Richmond Road in the new City of Ottawa.
We participate in St. Martin de Porres parish by providing funds for various projects,
most recently helping to renovate the church basement into a hall suitable for large social
gathering complete with new kitchen facilities that can seat and serve over 200 individuals
at any one time. Many of our membership serve in many of the parish ministries.
Our Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the church hall every second Monday of the month except July and August. Canon John Burke Council currently consists of over 100 members. We have a Country in the City atmosphere and sincerely welcome all visitors to our parish and our Council. |

Functionally, we are part of District 98, State Council of Ontario.
District 98 is made up of three other Councils namely,

9557, and 10470. |

We at Canon John Burke Council practice our Catholicism. Why? Because we are called by Christ to do so.
We support, love, and defend His Church and honor, support, and defend the priesthood as He instructed us to do.
We assist in building bridges for people to find, renew, or develop relationships with Christ in His Church.
We encourage, develop, and strengthen the Catholic community to the best of our ability.
We faithfully support and lovingly encourage each other in personal growth. How do we cope with all of these demands on our time, resources, and energy? It's easy when we call on Christ who is always with us, and therefore we always trust His faith, hope, and charity. We are never too old to make a contribution, we do not retire from life in service to Christ. At long last, we count ourselves blessed if we continue the good fight and die honorably in the service of Christ. Vivat Jesu! |
